Alzheimer’s Caregivers to Know

The Floral City Alzheimer’s/Dementia Caregiver Support Group will meet this month at 10:30 am on March 18 at Floral City United Methodist Church on Marvin St.

There is no charge and all caregivers are welcome to attend. There is no pressure to speak and everything that is shared stays within the group.

A recent article to be shared with the group concerns the use of music in care. The “Four Fs” have been used to engage people with dementia. These songs are fun songs like “The Old Gray Mare” or “How Much is that Doggy in the Window,” flag-waving songs like “God Bless America,” popular songs like “Old McDonald Had a Farm,” and faith-based songs. on the background of the individual.

Attendees of the April 15 meeting can expect Debbie Selsavage of Coping with Dementia to answer their questions.

Bravera Health Offers Parkinson’s Support Group

Bravera Health Seven Rivers Outpatient Rehab is restarting its Parkinson’s support group this month. Attend the first meeting at 3 pm on March 17 at 6151 N. Suncoast Blvd., Suite 2A, Crystal River.
