Tobin College of Businesshosted its 26th Annual Insurance Leader of the Year Awards Dinner on April 7raising a total of $2.2 million to fund student scholarships and support program initiatives. The face-to-face event, held for the first time since January 2020It was a historic celebration for the insurance industry and University supporters.

The dinner was held in honor of Tricia Griffithpresident and chief executive officer (CEO), The Progressive Corporationwho was named the 2020 Insurance Leader of the Year. The prestigious award, presented annually since 1995, recognizes the contributions of outstanding individuals whose leadership in the global insurance and financial services industry sets them apart from their peers.

The dinner normally takes place in January when the previous year’s award is presented. The 2020 award was presented at this year’s dinner as it was canceled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, held at New York Marriott Marquis in Manhattan, New Yorkattracted a crowd of more than 800 members of the global insurance industry, senior University managers, students, professors, business executives, guests, family and friends.
