Griff Gives Back campaign seeks donations for pets 81 griffgivesback copy
“Griff Gives Back” is an annual campaign led by Drake University and other local businesses, marking the seventh year that dog and cat food donations have been received for a local pet food pantry.

Erin Bell, associate director of marketing in charge of the Live Pet Program, is one of the leaders of this campaign, hoping to collect 15,000 pounds of dog and cat food.

“This campaign is very important to me because it is Griff II’s opportunity to give back in a very measurable and quantifiable way to the community that has always been so good to him,” said Bell. “He’s lucky to have a voice and a platform to use for the good of others, and that’s exactly what it’s all about. He has never been hungry a day in his life, but many dogs and cats are not so lucky. It’s important to recognize this and do something about it because he can. This is his chance to help less fortunate pets.”

This campaign seeks any brand of food for adult dogs and cats, with donation sites throughout the metro.

Some of these donation sites include the Olmsted Corridor on the Drake University campus, Drake Diner, Iowa Realty office in Beaverdale, Canine Clean, Off the Rail Quilting, HyVee in Windsor Heights, and Bone-A-Patreat. Orders can also be placed online through an Amazon wish list.
