The International Maritime Organization (IMO) newly appointed May 18the as the first International Women’s Day in the Maritime Sector. “The celebration will celebrate women in the industry and aims to promote the recruitment, retention and sustained employment of women in the maritime sector, raise the profile of women in the maritime sector, strengthen IMO’s commitment to the Goal of United Nations Sustainable Development 5 (gender equality) and support work to address the current gender imbalance in the maritime sector.”
This event is part of Falvey’s larger speaker series to highlight professional women, “Women in Charge,” and will include a panel discussion between:
