A bright education and a future for youth in foster care

“The University of Santo Tomas is committed to cultivating and catalyzing opportunities to nurture substantial growth, particularly for those who need it most,” said Dr. george statesaid UST’s Chief Innovation Officer. “We are very pleased to partner both locally and globally to bring the Cisco Networking Academy to from houston host community”.

The project leader for the Pilot Program, Dr. brandon greensaid, “Relationships are essential for teams, organizations and individuals to be successful. The development process was a learning and networking experience. We had to research and educate ourselves on the Cisco Networking Academy and the foster care system Once we brought together all of our personal and professional resources, we were able to get started on developing the Cisco Networking Academy Program at UST.”

One of the cohort members is 24 years old. ronaldsmith. He believes this is the opportunity that will give his life direction. Until now, Smith had only found employment in low-paying, dead-end jobs in the fast-food industry. He knew that he wanted to work with computers from a young age.

“At home, before my mom passed away, she fixed the computer. She would watch her and follow in her footsteps, and I realized that I liked solving equations and problems,” Smith said.
